Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a difference in the lives of middle school students as a Special Education Teacher in a contract role for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year! This full-time position supports a self-contained classroom of 12 students with mild to moderate needs. You'll work a standard schedule, Monday through Friday from 7:15am to 3:15pm, allowing for a great work-life balance and the chance to connect deeply with each student's unique learning journey. Key Qualifications: Valid Special Education teaching certification for the state (or eligibility to obtain) Previous experience supporting students with mild to moderate exceptional needs, ideally in a middle school setting Strong classroom management skills and experience implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) Dedication to fostering a positive, inclusive, and enriching classroom environment Excellent communication abilities for collaborating with school teams and families Role Highlights: Deliver individualized and small group instruction with evidence-based practices Manage and execute IEPs, tracking student progress regularly Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and administration to ensure successful student participation and achievement Maintain detailed records and documentation to comply with district and federal guidelines Participate in professional development and actively contribute to IEP and parent meetings This is an excellent opportunity to cultivate meaningful relationships as you guide students toward academic and social growth while working in a supportive school environment.
