Winslow Junior High School- August 2026-2027 School Year

Winslow Junior High School is seeking a special education teacher with a strong background in literacy and mathematics to teach students in our 7/8th grade resource room program, beginning August 2026.

Responsibilities

• Case manage, prepare and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for junior high level students.

• Direct and supervise the work of Educational Technicians who are responsible for assistance in implementing individualized special education programming.

• Poses expertise in delivering reading, writing, mathematics, social skill and functional skill instruction.

• Work as a team player who is willing to collaborate with others in order to benefit students.

• Collaborate and consult with general school personnel regarding the implementation of the IEPs and special educational services

• Maintain accurate and complete records in compliance with school district regulations and legal requirements

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelors/Masters degree in the appropriate field

• Valid teaching certification (282 endorsement)

• Experience in educating special needs students

• Proven effective classroom and student behavior management skills

• Knowledge and understanding of State, local and federal regulations and policies affecting special education
