TITLE OF VACANCY : Special Education Resource Teacher

LOCATION : Addams Elementary School

CONTRACT PERIOD: 180 days

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

REQUIRMENTS/QUALIAFICATIONS:

1. Valid Illinois PEL with LBS1 K – 8 endorsement
2. Strong interpersonal communication skills in working with teachers, students, parents and staff
3. Clear knowledge of adopted elementary curriculum and implementation
4. Strong organizational skills
5. Strong problem-solving skills
6. Strong knowledge of intervention strategies and progress monitoring experience
7. Strong Behavior Management
8. Ability to informally assess learning and behavioral needs of students

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Work under the direction of the building principal
2. Participate in the development of comprehensive Individual Education Plans for identified students
3. Provide instruction as determined by the students’ IEPs
4. Work collaboratively with staff to implement students’ IEP goals
5. Provide consultation, technical assistance and training to teachers and parents of students experiencing learning or behavioral problems
6. Provide information to parents relative to strategies that can be used at home to support the school’s efforts
7. Provide professional development to staff as identified by individual building needs

EFFECTIVE DATE: First contractual day of the 2026-2027
