This contract position focuses on a cross-categorical instructional program serving middle school students in a collaborative and adaptive setting. You'll work closely with a dedicated team, utilizing innovative strategies and a range of interventions to help each student achieve their unique potential. Key Qualifications: Valid Special Education Teacher certification (Illinois) Experience with cross-categorical or multi-needs classrooms Understanding of grade-level curriculum and individualized education program (IEP) development Strong ability to implement behavioral, social-emotional, and communication interventions Skilled in adapting instruction for academic, behavioral, communication, and functional goals Effective collaboration with aides, 1:1 support staff, and related service providers Primary Responsibilities: Provide specialized instruction aligned with both grade-level standards and IEP objectives Implement structured, visually supported teaching methods along with individualized behavioral and sensory supports Maintain ongoing communication with families, staff, and external support services Collaborate with paraprofessionals and support personnel to create an inclusive, structured, and engaging classroom atmosphere Regularly assess progress, document growth, and adjust strategies according to student response Promote positive classroom environments focused on social-emotional wellbeing and student independence In this role, you'll play an essential part in advancing educational equity and ensuring every child receives the instruction and encouragement they need to thrive.
