Special Education Teacher - Albany, NY

Qualifications:

• Current NYS Certification in Special Education or Students with Disabilities Birth to Grade 2 is required
• Candidates actively pursuing this certification may be considered for Substitute Special Education Teacher roles
• Experience or strong interest in working with preschool-age children, including those with varying abilities
• Excellent communication, adaptability, and a collaborative spirit
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, engaging, and supportive classroom community

Responsibilities:

• Implement and adapt lesson plans for both integrated and self-contained classrooms to meet IEP goals
• Provide differentiated instruction and strategies to support children with disabilities, promoting their academic, social, and emotional growth
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure holistic support for students
• Maintain thorough records, prepare reports, and participate in IEP meetings as required
• Foster a positive, encouraging learning atmosphere that nurtures every childs potential

Youll work Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 3 pm, helping each child build confidence and foundational skills during their most formative years.
