Special Education Teacher - Troy, NY

Qualifications:

• NYS Certification in Special Education or Students with Disabilities Birth to Grade 2 (required)
• Candidates actively pursuing special education certification for Birth-Grade 2 may be considered for Substitute Special Education Teacher positions

Responsibilities:

• Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students in both integrated and self-contained preschool settings
• Foster an inclusive, supportive, and engaging classroom atmosphere tailored to various learning styles and abilities
• Collaborate with general educators, related service providers, and families to coordinate supports and monitor developmental progress
• Employ evidence-based instructional strategies and behavioral interventions to support the success of each student
• Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, IEPs, and required compliance reports
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing training to support continuous professional growth

Position Details:

• Contract, full-time schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am-3pm
