Work in a middle school environment designing and implementing cross-categorical special education programming tailored to students with varying academic, behavioral, communication, adaptive, and functional needs. This contract position places you in an innovative setting where individualized education and collaboration are at the heart of the instructional process. Key Qualifications: Current certification in Special Education (Illinois PEL with LBS1 endorsement or eligibility) Demonstrated experience supporting students with a range of disabilities in a classroom setting Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation Experience utilizing evidence-based instructional practices and differentiated learning strategies Ability to work effectively with program aides, 1:1 support staff, and interdisciplinary teams Responsibilities: Deliver engaging, grade-level aligned instruction while supporting individualized IEP goals Implement specialized teaching techniques including structured teaching, visual supports, and sensory tools Integrate behavioral and social-emotional interventions throughout the school day Foster collaboration with related service providers to ensure comprehensive student support Monitor student progress, collect data, and contribute to ongoing IEP development in partnership with families and staff Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom climate conducive to learning for all students This role provides an exceptional opportunity to be part of a passionate, student-focused school community where your expertise in differentiated instruction will be celebrated.
