Special Education Teacher - Federal Way, WA

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

• Valid state teaching certification with Special Education endorsement
• Prior experience working with K-12 students with exceptionalities
• Strong knowledge of special education laws and individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Ability to effectively modify curriculum and instruction
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Demonstrated commitment to inclusive practices and positive behavior strategies

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to student needs
• Adapt instructional materials and techniques to accommodate various learning styles
• Work collaboratively with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure student progress
• Provide both individual and small-group instruction in academic and social-emotional skills
• Track and report on student goals, maintaining accurate documentation and compliance
• Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and professional development
