Elementary School Band Teacher

This position is for an itinerant band teacher serving three elementary schools and secondary band support in the Klamath County School District. Daily travel between schools is required following the supervisor's travel schedule. This position is a certified position and requires a teaching license.

Physical ability to adhere to OSHA and district safety regulations. Work within the district's communicable disease control plan (blood borne pathogens) and be aware of the existence and potential exposure to hazardous chemicals as identified on the SDS sheets. Responsibilities include student safety and security.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (Not Necessarily Limited To)

  1. Design and implement developmentally appropriate and challenging learning experiences, which allow learners to use critical thinking, creativity, and collaborative problem solving.
  2. Use a variety of instructional strategies, techniques, and discussion, which promote mastery and deep understanding of curriculum content.
  3. Communicate student progress and concerns with parents/guardians through two-way communication.
  4. Align scope and sequence with middle school band directors.
  5. Implement classroom procedures that foster management of student behaviors while maintaining respect and rapport.
  6. Effectively use classroom technology including internet, email, and district LMS to enhance instruction and student learning.
  7. Participate in district-wide and content-specific professional development, and organizations, and apply learned knowledge to instructional practices.
  8. Support and participate in curricular advancement of the district's music programs, professional learning community as well as the district's goals and mission.
  9. Coordinate and participate in performances as required by the supervisor.
  10. Maintain appropriate licenses and professional development units for license renewal.
  11. Other duties as assigned.

Position to begin in the 2026/2027 school year.

COMPENSATION:

  • 190 day contract
  • Family medical, dental and vision insurance
  • 6% PERS paid by District
  • $54,498-99,598/Annual
