Juntos en Alma Instructional Assistant (High School) 2026

• Initial screening will begin June 6th, 2026.
• This position runs from June 18th - July 16th, 2026
• Duty day runs from 7:30 am - 2:00 pm (6 hours per day)
• Applicants are expected to stay for the professional development hours
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Forest Grove School District is seeking dedicated, collaborative, and student-centered Instructional Assistants to support the implementation of the 2026 Summer Learning Program. Instructional Assistants for Juntos en Alma will work directly with our Migrant Liaison to create a leadership program for high school students.

This temporary position requires a passion for student success, flexibility, and the ability to implement instructional interventions in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.

• Provide small group and one-on-one instructional interventions in literacy and science.
• Assist the lead teacher in maintaining a positive, safe, and engaging classroom culture.
• Facilitate meaningful student discourse and collaborative learning activities.
• Prepare and organize instructional materials, hands-on science kits, and classroom resources.
• Assist in monitoring student progress and collecting data to inform instructional shifts.
• Support student safety during transitions, arrivals, departures, and meal times.
• Work closely with teachers, coordinators, and other support staff to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student records and information.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with school-aged children in an educational or recreational setting.
• Ability to follow instructional plans and implement feedback in real-time.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of an instructional team.

Preferred:

• Previous experience as an Instructional Assistant or Paraprofessional.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred
• Experience with literacy intervention strategies or hands-on science curriculum.
• Completion of district-required paraprofessional assessments or college coursework in education.

• Staff Training/Prep Begins: June 18, 2026.
• Summer Learning Program: June 22, 2026 – July 16, 2026.
• Weekly Schedule: Monday through Thursday ( No Fridays ).

Instructional Assistant hourly rate, Level I, Grade 5

This is a temporary summer assignment and does not constitute permanent employment beyond the Summer Learning Program dates.
