Salary Range: $50,000-$60,000

Position Overview

Montezuma Elementary School is seeking a compassionate, experienced Special Education Teacher dedicated to supporting diverse learners through individualized instruction and evidence-based practices. This role requires expertise in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), behavior management, and inclusive teaching strategies. The teacher will collaborate closely with general education staff, specialists, and families to create supportive, adaptive learning environments that promote academic, social, and emotional growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with state and federal guidelines.
• Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to students' unique learning needs across academic and functional areas.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to support inclusive practices and student success.
• Use formative and summative assessments to track progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Employ positive behavior interventions and supports to promote a positive classroom climate.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to special education services.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and professional development.
• Integrate assistive technology and adaptive tools to enhance learning opportunities.
• Foster social-emotional learning and self-advocacy skills among students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Three or more years of experience
• Valid Indiana special education teaching license or ability to obtain one.
• Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Experience with IEP development, differentiated instruction, and behavior management.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Commitment to inclusive education and supporting diverse learners.
• Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive instructional strategies.
