SPED Teaching Assistant

Norris Middle School is seeking a dedicated and student-centered individual to serve as a Special Education Teaching Assistant for the upcoming school year. This position supports students with diverse learning needs by assisting classroom teachers, supporting instructional activities, and helping create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.

• Assist special education teachers with daily instructional activities and classroom support
• Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce academic and behavioral goals
• Support implementation of IEP accommodations and modifications
• Assist with classroom organization, supervision, and student monitoring
• Help maintain a positive and structured learning environment
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to meet student needs
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all student matters

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience working with children or students preferred
• Ability to build positive relationships with middle school students
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Patience, flexibility, and a willingness to support student success
• Must meet all state and district employment requirements
