Substitute Teacher (On-call)

Employment Terms:

Nine Month, Part-Time (On-Call), Non-Exempt Position

Reports directly to the Principal

2025-2026 School Year

Responsibilities:

• Provide aid in the classroom to teachers.
• Help teachers with curriculum and instruction from time to time as needed.
• Provide effective, innovative instruction.
• Model and enforce rules and provide appropriate response to student misconduct in a safe and respectful manner. Provide documentation for student incidents.
• In conjunction with the Site Director and the teachers, monitor recess time and arrival and dismissal times.
• Assist in various other areas as deemed reasonable and appropriate by the administration.
• Supervise students visually and audibly during required duty times and assure the safety of all students in the school.
• Provide supervision of students during nonacademic times (i.e. breaks, lunch, detention, etc. and/or other assignments).
• Enforce rules and provide appropriate response to student misconduct in a safe and respectful manner.
• Assist the classroom teacher with curriculum implementation.
• Assist in the administration of academic programs for classroom students.
• Incorporate Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) into the general curriculum (when appropriate).
• Participate in and be prepared for any IEP meeting (When appropriate).
• Be knowledgeable of and implement PLC Charter School policies and procedures.
• Complete any/all tasks assigned by the Site Director and or classroom teacher.
• Provide suggestions/input on the selection of instructional materials and resources.
• Attend all mandatory meetings.
• Be knowledgeable of Arizona State Standards and insure said standards are maintained.
• Responsible for lunch set up and dispersal. Responsible for cleanup of lunchroom in between lunch sessions and after lunch.
• Coordinate with teachers regarding making copies, getting supplies and books, and any other related activities deemed appropriate by administration.
• All other duties as assigned by the Site Director.

• Must be able to function well in a TEAM environment. Must be able to implement effective instruction in small groups, large groups, and individual instruction environments.
• A valid AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card is required.
