Substitute Teacher (2026-2027 School Year)

Individuals who have previously separated from the district or who are new to the district and would like to start substitute teach during the 2026-2027 school year, should apply through this job posting.

We are a district that serves over 6,700 students and employs 750+ employees in a northwestern suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Our district is comprised of one primary school for kindergarten students, three elementary schools for grades 1-4, two middle schools for grades 5-8, and one high school for grades 9-12.

Position Overview & Responsibilities

Schedule: Varies by level and building school days

Wages: $180/day.

Benefits: No benefit eligibilty, other than Earned Safe and Sick Time (ESST) as provided by law.

Requirements & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and required substitute teaching license (short-call, long-call, lifetime, or Tier 3 or Tier 4).

Application Process

Please apply online and attention application materials to Angel Lussier, Human Resources Supervisor. Once your teaching license is verified, you will be sent a background check link. Once your background check is approved, you will be invited to an in-person interview. Interviews will be held in August__slots are assigned on a first come-first serve basis, and there will only be one date available in August. If you are not available to interview in August, please wait to submit your application to Substitute Teach in September. Selected applicants will complete in-person paperwork (bring your driver's license and social security card) on site following the interview. Substitutes will then be entered into SmartFind, our substitute management system and can begin substitute teaching starting Tuesday, September 1, 2025. At this time, the decision as to whether there will be mandator (paid) substitute training has not been made.
