Description:

Spruce Mountain High School seeks a dynamic and versatile Music Educator to lead and develop a comprehensive music program that includes high school band, jazz band, marching band and choral ensembles. The ideal candidate will be passionate about student growth, musically diverse, and committed to fostering a culture of excellence, creativity, and inclusion.

• Prior successful experience as a high school instrumental, vocal, and modern band teacher
• Experience in building positive relationships, developing student leadership, accountability, and teamwork
• Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues, administrators, and the community to support the schools music program
• Knowledge in differentiating instruction to meet the various needs of all learners

Qualifications:

1. Maine State Law requires all school employees to be fingerprinted and pass a Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) for a Department of Education experience working with students with social and emotional challenges preferred.
2. BA / Masters preferred
3. Professional teaching certification with the MDOE (conditional certification would be considered for the right candidate)
