Description:

This is an opening for a qualified English Language Arts Teacher. Qualified candidates must possess a strong understanding and knowledge of teaching high school aged students. Candidates must have beliefs and abilities that support our mission of Success for All students. Candidates must have an appropriate Maine Certification at the time of hire or be awaiting proper certification.

• Prior successful experience as a high school level ELA teacher or student teaching experience
• Experience in building positive relationships with students and supporting student success
• Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively
• Knowledge in differentiating instruction to meet the various needs of all learners

Qualifications:

1. Maine State Law requires all school employees to be fingerprinted and pass a Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) for a Department of Education experience working with students with social and emotional challenges preferred.
2. BA / Masters preferred
3. Professional teaching certification in English Secondary Education (100S) with the MDOE (conditional certification would be considered for the right candidate)
