5th Grade ESL Teacher

Duties

Position Summary:

Wood Dale School District 7 is seeking a dedicated, collaborative 5th-grade teacher with a strong commitment to supporting all students. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality instruction aligned to grade-level standards while integrating language development strategies to ensure all students can access and engage in rigorous learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction in all core subject areas
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic and language needs of students
• Support learners through effective strategies and scaffolds
• Use data to inform instruction and monitor student progress
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that fosters student growth and belonging
• Collaborate with ESL staff, special education staff, and grade-level teams to support all learners
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom activities
• Participate in professional learning and contribute to a collaborative school culture

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Elementary Education endorsement
• ESL endorsement (preferred or willingness to obtain)
• Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and language acquisition strategies
• Commitment to equitable practices and meeting the needs of all learners
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Salary: Pay from $52,300 per year depending on experience
