Position Overview:
You'll create an engaging, lab-based learning environment that develops scientific literacy through hands-on experimentation, data analysis, and real-world applications. This position offers the opportunity to ignite scientific curiosity while collaborating with our dedicated STEM department.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver standards-aligned instruction in Biology, Chemistry, Physics,
Design inquiry-based lessons incorporating lab investigations and STEM applications
Implement research-based science pedagogy with safety as a priority
Utilize formative and summative assessments to measure conceptual understanding
Foster critical thinking through experimental design and data interpretation
Maintain an inclusive classroom that supports all learners
Participate in science fairs, STEM nights, and department initiatives
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or related field (Master's preferred)
Valid Alabama Professional Educator Certificate with Science (6-12) endorsement preferred, but not required
Demonstrated knowledge of:
Alabama Course of Study Standards for Science
Best practices in laboratory safety and management
Technology integration in science instruction
