Position Overview:
You'll create a dynamic classroom environment that builds mathematical proficiency through problem-solving, real-world applications, and conceptual understanding. This position offers the opportunity to shape analytical thinkers while collaborating with our dedicated STEM department.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver standards-aligned instruction in Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, or other relevant courses
Develop engaging lessons that connect mathematical concepts to practical applications
Implement differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs
Utilize formative and summative assessments to track student progress
Foster critical thinking through problem-based learning activities
Maintain a positive classroom culture that encourages mathematical discourse
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Math Education, or related field (Master's preferred)
Valid Alabama Professional Educator Certificate with Mathematics (6-12) endorsement preferred, but not required
Demonstrated knowledge of:
Alabama Course of Study Standards for Mathematics
Best practices in math pedagogy
Technology integration (graphing calculators, math software, etc.)
Data-driven instruction
