Business Teacher Jobs in Illinois

A Business Teacher in secondary education instructs students on business and finance principles, entrepreneurship, economics, international business, and more. They develop engaging lesson plans, deliver lectures, assign and grade homework, and prepare students for tests. Business Teachers also promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills, preparing students for the world of business or for further business studies. They may also be required to participate in staff meetings, assist in school functions, and maintain up-to-date subject knowledge.

For this role, a Bachelor's Degree in Business Education or a related field is typically required, though some schools may require a Master's Degree. A teaching certification is also necessary. Important skills include excellent communication and presentation skills, the ability to engage and inspire students, and a high degree of subject knowledge. Prior to becoming a Business Teacher, an individual might have worked as a Business Analyst, Financial Advisor, or Business Consultant, roles that provide valuable business experience and insights.
