Essex North Shore is seeking a Spanish Teacher to join the Foreign Language Department.

CORI, SORI and SAFIS required.

Licensed or licensable by DESE as a World Language Spanish Teacher (5-12).

JOB DESCRIPTION

ACADEMIC TEACHER

QUALIFICATIONS: Licensure by DESE as a Teacher

REPORTS TO: Humanities Coordinator

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide instruction in the content in accordance with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks in the specified content area.
  2. Provide instruction in Theory to students in all four grade levels, as assigned.
  3. Document student performance, student behavior, and student achievement within the career education setting.
  4. Provides review and reinforcement of new concepts; support students in the completion of their assigned tasks.
  5. Demonstrate knowledge of students’ IEPs, as well as the accommodations and modifications necessary for student success; modify assignments, tests, and quizzes in collaboration with special educators, if required.
  6. Develops resources for students to be successful, such as models, graphic organizers, and copies of class notes, video clips, demonstrations, etc..
  7. Modify assignments, tests, and quizzes as required.
  8. Participate as a member of the Content Department; collaborate with teachers within the department and within the cluster.
  9. Maintains documentation, including student performance, behavior, progress data, notation of student absences/tardies, and conversations with parents and administrators.
  10. Provide content support outside of the general education classroom, as necessary.
  11. Integrate technology into the curriculum.
  12. Respond to any correspondence, both oral and written, that comes from a parent or guardian.
  13. Participates in conferences and meetings when appropriate; contribute observations and ideas.
  14. Accept additional responsibilities as may be required under the direction of the Principal or Designee.
