Special Education Teacher - Olathe, Colorado

Begin a meaningful chapter supporting elementary students with significant support needs for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time contract opportunity, located in the Olathe, CO area, seeks a compassionate Special Education Teacher ready to join a dedicated team serving students with moderate to severe disabilities. The position spans the full academic year, beginning in August and continuing through the school year's close, working within a specialized elementary program.

What Were Looking For:

• Current Colorado Special Education teaching license, or the eligibility to secure one through reciprocity
• Expertise in supporting students with moderate to severe disabilities, particularly within elementary settings
• Proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs tailored to student growth and learning outcomes
• Strong behavior intervention skills and a track record of creating structured, supportive classroom environments
• Experience supervising or directing paraprofessional staff is a plus
• Effective communicator and collaborator with families, therapists, and administrators

Daily Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted instruction and support to students with significant cognitive and physical needs
• Design individualized education plans (IEPs) in partnership with families and multidisciplinary teams
• Utilize a variety of behavior management techniques and supports to foster student success
• Lead, guide, and collaborate with paraprofessional staff to maximize program effectiveness
• Track student progress and maintain accurate compliance and documentation
• Regularly participate in IEP meetings and school-based planning
