LTS Physical Education/Health Teacher (26/27 SY)

The successful candidate will: Plan and implement the physical education & health curriculum for grades 9-12 Evaluate individual students using department-developed common assessment tools, maintain up-to-date records of student progress Collaborate with members of the PreK-12 Physical Education & Health department to review,develop and execute a rigorous district curriculum aligned to state standards Create a positive, inviting, and safe learning environment while modeling enthusiasm for learning Develop, model, and practice class procedures and routines Modify instructional practices to meet individual student needs Communicate high expectations to all learners, as well as realistic and consistent expectations for studentbehavior and applies appropriate consequences Other duties as assigned by building administrators

Job Requirements
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: 1-2 years teaching high school physical education and healthADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Valid Massachusetts Teacher Certification in Physical Education & Health, 9 -12 Knowledge of current best practices in physical education & health education Understanding of scientifically based research and evidence-based practices for teaching students Knowledge of best practices for assessing student progress toward achievement of standard Excellent communication skills Current Certification in CPR
