Biology Teacher (SY 2026-2027)

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree Preferred
• Massachusetts Licensure in Biology.

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

JOB GOAL: Responsible for the instruction of biology and related classes in a high school setting serving students in grades 8 through 12.

PERFORMANCE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Instruct students in biology and related science classes
2. Work as a team member of the science department and attend common planning time
3. Create high level lesson plans and modify accordingly as needed
4. Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
5. Utilize a variety of curriculum resources to diversify instruction and lessons
6. Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans
7. Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational and cultural backgrounds of the students served
8. Observe and evaluate student's performance and maintain electronic gradebook
9. Manage student behavior in the classroom by invoking positive disciplinary procedures
10. Attend scheduled meetings and professional development as required

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: School Year

SALARY AND BENEFITS: Per Teacher Contract
