The Ashburnham Westminster Regional School District is seeking a dedicated and skilled Special Education Teacher to join our elementary team. This educator will support students with diverse learning and behavioral needs using Applied Behavior Analysis methodologies and incidental teaching strategies. The successful candidate will provide individualized, standards-aligned instruction, lead and participate in IEP processes, and collaborate to promote inclusive practices. This role supports a data-informed culture that prioritizes student growth in the least restrictive environment and ensures meaningful inclusion in general education settings and the life of the school.Key Responsibilities:Deliver specially designed instruction using evidence-based ABA strategies and incidental teaching.Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with Massachusetts state standards and federal regulations.Chair IEP team meetings, coordinate team input, and ensure compliance and collaborative planning.Design and deliver instruction aligned to the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks, adapting content to meet individual student needs.Develop and maintain MCAS-Alt portfolios in accordance with DESE guidelines, ensuring alignment with grade-level learning standards and appropriate student goals.Promote inclusive practices by supporting student access to general education settings and school-wide activities to the extent appropriate for each learner.Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, families, and outside agencies to ensure consistent support and implementation of services.Communicate regularly and effectively with families, fostering trust and shared understanding.Collect, analyze, and utilize behavioral and academic data to inform instruction and monitor progress.Maintain a classroom environment that encourages independence, functional communication, and social-emotional growth.Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to a collaborative, student-centered team culture.

Job Requirements
Required:Valid Massachusetts teaching license in Moderate Disabilities (PreK8) or Severe/Int Disabilities.Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Special Education Experience with ABA methodologies, behavioral supports, and incidental teaching techniques.Demonstrated ability to chair IEP meetings and facilitate multidisciplinary collaboration.Strong communication skills with families, teachers, related service providers, and agencies.Experience aligning instruction to Massachusetts standards and developing MCAS-Alt portfolios.Preferred:Masters Degree in Special Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, or related field.BCBA certification or advanced ABA coursework.Experience supporting students with significant communication and behavioral needs.Key Competencies:Standards-based, individualized instruction rooted in data and best practices.Commitment to inclusive education and equitable access for all learners.Strong team collaboration and relationship-building skills.Proactive communication, professionalism, and attention to detail.Flexibility, problem-solving, and a student-centered mindset.Salary is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement
