Duties
- Maintains a student-centered approach to teaching and learning.
- Provides responsive, rigorous, and differentiated instruction to ensure all students are successful.
- Collaborates with colleagues to use student learning data from common assessments to adjust instruction, monitor student growth, and evaluate instructional practices.
- Collaborate with teachers and service providers to ensure that all areas of the student's educational program (IEP) are in compliance.
- Engages students in learning through clear communication with and among students, high level questioning, differentiated learning activities, and relevant materials.
- Demonstrates mastery in his/her plans and practices, integrating a wide range of effective pedagogical approaches.
- Demonstrates extensive knowledge of content and pedagogy, and models adaptation of content to meet specific student needs.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skill in data-based decision making and problem solving.
- Demonstrates knowledge of students, including child and adolescent development and diverse learner characteristics, in order to establish goals for student programming.
- Demonstrates knowledge of state and federal regulations, as they relate to special education services.
- Creates a positive classroom environment.
- Interacts with students in a mutually respectful and caring manner.
- Effectively manages classroom procedures, and actively engages students in meeting clear behavior expectations.
- Demonstrates well-developed interpersonal verbal and written communication skills that promote productive and respectful communication with all stakeholders.
- Exhibits integrity, leadership, and professionalism as a positive member of the school community.
Qualifications
- Professional Educator License (PEL)
- LBS I endorsement required
- Strong commitment to equity, inclusion, and differentiated instruction
