Key Qualifications:
- Current, active South Carolina Special Education Teacher License (Multi-categorical or corresponding state certifications required)
- Experience teaching in moderate, co-taught resource, or self-contained settings is highly desirable
- Adaptability to work across different grade levels (elementary, middle, high school, preschool)
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to provide effective, differentiated instruction to diverse learners
- Commitment to fostering inclusive and supportive classroom environments
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction in settings ranging from moderate classrooms to co-taught and self-contained resource rooms
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Track and document student progress, maintaining regular communication with all stakeholders
- Support students academic, social, and behavioral growth
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to school-wide initiatives
This contract offers full-time hours (35-37.5 per week) during the school year, with some part-time opportunities for co-taught resource roles at the middle school level (18-20 hours/week). Onsite presence is strongly preferred, with potential for virtual arrangements closer to the school start date.
