High School ELA Teacher

Qualifications:

• Possess or be eligible for a valid Michigan teaching certificate
• Minimum requirement of Bachelor degree with a major/minor in ELA with BX endorsement
• Meet highly qualified requirements for ELA
• Able to assess and document student progress
• Professional in personal conduct and actions
• Excellent communication skills

Duties:

• Excellent communication and organizational skills required
• Working knowledge of ELA Common Core Standards
• Ability to link instruction and assessments to Common Core Standards
• Ability to use formative assessments to inform instruction
• Create, deliver, and grade assessments/assignments as needed
• Ability to utilize effective instructional strategies
• Ability to differentiate instruction
• Must be able to effectively integrate technology into the curriculum
• Knowledge of Pyramid Response to Intervention, techniques for intervention and progress monitoring a plus
• Perform other duties as assigned.
