Randolph School is seeking a creative, experienced teacher for a 7 th Grade English teaching position within our Middle School Division (grades 5-8). This teacher will be responsible for teaching the required curriculum and will also serve as an integral member of a grade-level team, building strong relationships with middle school students and acting as their advisor. Candidates should bring experience teaching English in addition to a strong academic background in literature and in writing.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan, supervise, and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum
  • Honor individual learning needs and capacities in the classroom, adapting teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students varying needs and interests
  • Demonstrate a history of collaborative relationships with parents and colleagues
  • Maintain an effective, safe, inviting, well-organized classroom
  • Effectively monitor and manage student learning using a variety of assessment methods to evaluate student progress
  • Demonstrate effective written and oral communication (parent conferences, written correspondence including narrative reports)
  • Integrate the teaching of effective organization and study skills
  • Use our Learning Management System to communicate and organize assignments
  • Create a supportive and inclusive environment and develop respectful relationships with students by using conflict resolution and problem-solving techniques within the classroom
  • Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning through active participation in professional growth activities
  • Work with grade level teams to address the needs of the whole child

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in English or Education required, masters degree preferred
  • Relevant 2-3 years of classroom teaching experience preferred
  • Student-centered, collaborative, approachable, actively involved in full program of the school
