The district has approximately 775 students and 120 employees. Typical class sizes are under 25 students. Halstead-Bentley USD 440 has worked hard to keep up with the changes in technology to provide 21st century skills to students.

The district is comprised of a primary school in Bentley for grades K-3, a middle school in Halstead for preschool and grades 4-8, and a high school in Halstead for grades 9-12.
