DATE: May 22, 2026

POSITION: Special Education Teacher, Wirt County Primary Center

CONTRACT: 200-day contract for the 2026-2027 school year

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Meet requirements for certification in Multi Categorical Special Education K-8 or K-5 and 6-8 (LD, BD, MI, Autism)
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with school administrators, school personnel, and parents
• Demonstrates ability to provide differentiated instruction and intervention to students
• Demonstrate organizational and management skills
• Demonstrates working knowledge of developing and implementing IEP's
• Educational philosophy compatible with the Wirt County Board of Education

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Administer assessments and provide documentation of students' progress
• Analyze scores and performance in order to develop an instructional program for students
• Participate in professional development opportunities to improve professional practice
• Coordinate activities as required by IDEA for students and parents
• Coordinate services with local agencies to provide quality instruction and services to students
• Keep written records and documentation of student progress
• Plan and implement personalized learning in push in, pull out, and/or co-teaching environments
• Other duties as assigned by Principal

SUPERVISOR: Principal/Assistant Principal

SALARY: Wirt County Salary Scale for teachers based on degree and years' experience
