Regional Summer School Substitute Teacher

CiTi BOCES is seeking flexible, student-centered Substitute Teachers in all content areas to support Regional Summer School programs for students in grades 9-12. Substitute Teachers will provide instructional continuity in the absence of the regular classroom teacher and support students in meeting credit recovery goals, strengthening foundational skills, and successfully completing coursework. This role requires adaptability, strong classroom management, and the ability to implement lesson plans aligned to New York State Learning Standards. We welcome applicants with certification or experience in all 7-12 content areas, including: English Language Arts Mathematics Science (Living Environment, Earth Science, Chemistry, Physics) Social Studies Also seeking candidates with experience or certification in: Special Education Physical Education Responsibilities Implement teacher-provided lesson plans and maintain continuity of instruction Supervise and support students in completing assigned coursework Follow all established classroom routines, expectations, and procedures Maintain a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment Support diverse learners, including students with IEPs and 504 plans Monitor student behavior and address concerns consistent with school policies Take accurate attendance and report any issues to administration. Communicate effectively with administrators and staff regarding classroom needs Be prepared to adapt instruction or activities based on student needs Participate in any required orientation or training Locations: APW Junior/Senior High School G. Valid NYS Teaching Certification

Preferred:

Experience working with secondary students (grades 9-12)

Experience supporting at-risk or credit recovery populations

Strong classroom management and organizational skills

Ability to follow lesson plans and adjust as needed

Flexibility and reliability in a fast-paced environment

Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and support staff

Additional Information Assignments are on an as-needed basis and may vary by day and location
