Permanent Substitute Teacher
Direct Supervisor: Head of Early Childhood, Head of Lower and Intermediate School, and Head of Middle School

The Permanent Substitute Teacher is a responsible and student-centered educator who helps to maintain consistent education throughout the school when other teachers are unable to perform their teaching duties. Works closely with the Head of Early Childhood, Head of Lower and Intermediate School, Head of Middle School and the Academic Administrative Coordinator to support a positive school experience for all students (age three through eighth grade).

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs teaching duties throughout the school that would range from age three through eighth grade and would include all subjects and areas such as PE, music, art, world language, math, language arts, etc.
- Works closely with the Head of Early Childhood, Head of Lower and Intermediate School, and Head of Middle School, and the Academic Administrative Coordinator for daily classroom placement and tasks
- Leads students to live our mission fully and inspire a strong community that ensures a sense of respect, responsibility, and integrity in all students
- Actively participates in school life and demonstrates an interest and passion for professional development
- Proactively seeks to support the school and teachers on days not assigned to a classroom
- Performs other duties as assigned
Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
Possess an understanding of child development - A life-long learner who enhances their skills using technology to maintain high standards of performance
- Excellent time management skills and ability to switch between tasks and prioritize work
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Aptitude to learn new systems, software, and platforms, including student information systems
- Comfortable with Google Workspace, Google Classroom, and a Windows/Chrome OS environment
- High level of confidentiality and discretion
The Permanent Substitute Teacher is a 10-month position and follows the academic calendar.
