Social Studies Teacher - High School
200-day contract
Seeking qualified teacher to provide classroom instruction at the high school level. Reports to and is evaluated by the Principal.
Length of employment is 200 days (10 months); contract renewable in accordance with School Board policy and the Code of Virginia.
Closing Date: Open until filled
Qualifications:
Hold or be eligible for licensure in Virginia with appropriate endorsement
Demonstrated understanding of standards-based curriculum, research-based instructional strategies, and effective assessment practices
Ability to model and promote a culture of high expectations for student and staff performance
Understanding of continuous school improvement
Ability to disaggregate and use data to inform instruction
Experience working with diverse populations, including students with disabilities, English language learners, students who live in poverty, and students who are gifted
Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a collaborative/shared-leadership environment
