Contract Special Education Teacher Positions - 2026/2027 School Year

Sunbelt Staffing is looking to hire dedicated Special Education Teachers for the upcoming school year. These contract positions offer the opportunity to support students with diverse learning needs while working in collaborative and well-supported school environments.

Position Overview

As a Special Education Teacher, you will provide individualized instruction and support to students in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) . Youll work closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure each student has the tools they need to succeed academically and socially.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage IEPs in compliance with state and federal guidelines
• Provide direct instruction in resource, inclusion, or self-contained settings
• Modify curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs
• Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals
• Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff
• Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate, timely documentation
• Support classroom behavior management and intervention strategies

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field
• Active Mississippi Special Education teaching license (or ability to obtain)
• Experience working with K12 students with diverse learning needs preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
