Develop and deliver lessons and assessments linked to Massachusetts Curriculum Standards

  • Manage daily classroom procedures, rituals, and routines
  • Develop relationships with students to support academic success
  • Implement RULER-based SEL strategies within the classroom and across the grade to support students social and emotional health
  • Assist the team in supervising student transitions between classes
  • Regularly meet and collaborate with co-teachers and special education support staff
  • Regularly meet and collaborate with Art department
  • Regularly meet and collaborate with the grade-level team to discuss and troubleshoot student concerns; participate in and assist with planning for grade-level activities and events
  • Regularly meet and collaborate with the Dean of Students and School Adjustment Counselor to support students behavioral and social and emotional health
  • Attend IEP meetings as required
  • Attend all grade-level 504 meetings with the team, being prepared to share samples of student work as well as reflect upon accommodations that students are currently using or may need to use within the classroom setting in order to meet learning objectives
  • Communicate frequently and as needed with parents and guardians in order to support students social, emotional, behavioral, and academic success
