High School US History Teacher (2)

Murdock High School (Grades 9-12)

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Instruct students in U.S. History using HQIM in a high school setting.

Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities.

Create a positive educational climate for students.

Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.

Modify Tier I instructional material accordingly throughout the year

Maintain electronic grade books.

Utilize various curriculum resources.

Integrate curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of students

Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.

Observe and evaluate student's performance

Manage student behaviour in the classroom by invoking approved disciplinary procedures

Participate in department common planning time

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree, Masters Preferred

Possess a MA teaching license, including SEI endorsement

Knowledge of current teaching methods; educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles

Ability to think critically, problem-solve, backwards plan, analyze; use data and prioritize the needs of the student

Teaching experience with a proven track record of producing dramatic achievement gains is ideal

Salary Range: $55,730 - $100, 313
