Description:

The Instructional Support Specialist (RTI) plays a vital role in advancing student achievement and instructional effectiveness through active participation in the school's Response to Intervention (RTI) process. This position goes beyond traditional instructional aide responsibilities by providing targeted academic support to students while also partnering with teachers to strengthen instructional practices.

Working collaboratively with classroom teachers and administration, the Instructional Support Specialist helps design and implement individualized and small-group instruction based on student data and identified needs. This role includes supporting differentiated instruction, assisting with center planning and management, and conducting observations that inform both student interventions and instructional decision-making.

The ideal candidate has experience working with elementary and/or middle school students and demonstrates a strong understanding of differentiated instruction, intervention strategies, and the use of student data to guide instruction. This individual is skilled in supporting small-group instruction and contributing to effective classroom learning environments. A collaborative and flexible team member, the Instructional Support Specialist works across grade levels and instructional settings with ease. Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills are essential, along with a proactive, student-centered approach that supports both student growth and teacher development.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the implementation of the school's RTI framework through targeted student interventions and progress monitoring

Provide small-group and individualized instruction to support student learning needs

Collaborate with classroom teachers to plan, implement, and adjust differentiated instruction

Assist with the development and management of instructional centers and learning activities

Conduct classroom observations and gather data to support instructional decision-making

Help analyze student data in collaboration with teachers and administration to inform next steps

Support teachers in implementing effective instructional strategies and interventions

Build positive relationships with students and support a structured, engaging learning environment

Maintain clear and consistent communication with teachers and administration

Participate in RTI meetings, faculty meetings, and professional development opportunities

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field

Valid teaching certificate (or ability to obtain certification) preferred

Experience with Response to Intervention and differentiation
