The Waterville School District is seeking an outstanding, certified Math Teacher for Waterville Senior High School. Qualifications include a strong commitment to student learning, excellent communication skills, and demonstrated experience in effective math instruction. The successful candidate will teach a range of mathematics courses. Experience with Advanced Placement (AP) instruction is preferred, but not required. The ideal candidate builds strong, positive relationships with students, fosters an inclusive and supportive classroom environment, and uses current best practices to deliver engaging, rigorous math instruction. Candidates should be passionate about connecting with students and helping them see the relevance of mathematics through real-world applications.

The city of Waterville is located on the banks of the Kennebec River and is easily accessible from two exits off I-95 as well as Route 201. Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lessons that are relevant, culturally responsive, and aligned with Maine Learning Results.
• Foster meaningful connections with students to support their overall well-being and academic success.
• Create a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued.
• Use a variety of instructional strategies and assessments to meet diverse learning needs.
• Collaborate with colleagues, counselors, and school staff to support students.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned by administration

Qualifications

• Valid Maine teaching certification in Math (or ability to obtain).
• Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignments (Masters preferred).
• Successful prior teaching experience preferred.
