Job Description
Woodson USD #366 is seeking a creative, passionate, and student-centered educator to serve as Junior High / High School Art Teacher and Yearbook Advisor. The position combines instruction in visual arts with leadership of the school's yearbook program, offering a unique opportunity to foster creativity, collaboration, and school pride.
Art Instruction:
Develop and deliver engaging art curriculum aligned with state and national standards
Teach a variety of media (e.g., drawing, painting, sculpture, digital art)
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs and skill levels
Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
Maintain an organized, safe, and inspiring classroom environment
Support student participation in art shows, contests, and exhibitions
Yearbook Advisor Duties:
Lead and supervise the creation of the annual school yearbook
Teach and guide students in photography, layout design, writing, and editing
Manage deadlines, budgets, and communication with publishing company
Oversee student staff, fostering teamwork and accountability
Ensure accurate and inclusive representation of school events and student life
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Art Education or related field
Valid teaching certification/licensure in Kansas or ability to obtain
Strong background in visual arts and design principles
Experience with digital design tools
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and community
Coaching opportunities are available.

Salary:$45,320 Per Year
