Posting Description: Secondary Social Studies Teacher - World History and AP World History
Newark Charter School is seeking a qualified individual to teach High School World History and AP World History. The successful candidate will be tasked with developing instructional goals that align with the Delaware State Standards in World History and the College Board standards for Advanced Placement, as well as the Newark Charter School Mission of promoting Excellence in Academics and Decorum. The candidate should be prepared to collaborate with all stakeholders to enhance the existing educational program. This includes maintaining and expanding current student programming such as National History Day. The role requires a dedication to fostering a comprehensive understanding of global historical perspectives among students, encouraging both academic excellence and civic responsibility.
Reports to: Building Principal
Terms of Employment: 10-month Position
Salary: Commensurate with degree level and experience
Minimum Qualifications: Meets certification requirements of the State of Delaware for Teacher Secondary Social Studies

Execute the mission and vision of Newark Charter School through expectations, beliefs, instructional delivery, curricular fidelity, engagement in school community and through parental engagement.
Act ethically and professionally, as well as, promote a culture of excellence with high expectations for all students and community members.
Dedicate actions to the belief that all students can learn when they are challenged, supported, respected and motivated.
Employ a variety of evidenced-based instructional strategies that are culturally responsive.
Commit to a collaborative professional community focused to ensure delivery of the NCS academic program and use of high-quality instructional materials resulting in high levels of academic achievement.
Deliver an instructional program that is multifaceted to accommodate different learning styles, different levels of social and intellectual maturity, and different degrees of academic interest and achievement.
Engage in professional learning and be committed to continual growth and improvement as an educator.
Prioritize parental engagement in the instructional program and as partners to ensure the academic success of all students.
Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
Promote high expectations for behavior standards and enforce the Code of Conduct.
Contribute to the school community outside of the instructional program.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Standard Requirements: Favorable Criminal Background Check and Child Abuse Registry Check for the candidate who is offered employment
