Incorporate a variety of instructional strategies and resources to meet diverse student needs. Conduct experiments and labs that allow students to learn how to apply lessons and learn to handle equipment and other materials safely. Apply effective classroom management skills that create a positive environment that encourages inquiry, collaboration and respect for all students. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of grades, progress and attendance. Assess student progress through multiple, varied and regular assessments. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding the progress of the student. Work effectively with colleagues and administration in developing a strong school community. Participate in professional development so as to remain up-to-date with changes in the field. Make connections with university and industry chemists in order to better prepare students for careers in the sciences Uphold school policies, procedures, and standards of conduct. Biweekly Pay Requirements / Qualifications Bachelor's degree in chemistry, science education, or a related field. Strong knowledge of chemistry subject matter and laboratory procedures. Ability to differentiate instruction and support students with varying academic abilities. Commitment to fostering a safe, equitable, and respectful learning environment. Preferred Skills and Experience Valid teaching certification/license for secondary science instruction (state-specific requirements may apply). Master's degree in Chemistry or Science Education Industry experience Previous teaching experience at the secondary level. Able to teach Physics and AP Chemistry Experience with curriculum development and assessment design. A current teaching credential is required.
