Substitute Teacher

Job Summary

The Substitute Teacher provides classroom instruction and supervision in the absence of the regular classroom teacher, supporting a safe, respectful, and faithcentered learning environment. This role ensures continuity of instruction while upholding the academic and behavioral expectations of Catholic education.

Key Responsibilities

Implement lesson plans and classroom routines left by the regular teacher

Maintain a structured, respectful, and orderly classroom environment

Supervise students during instructional periods, transitions, lunch, and recess as assigned

Uphold school policies, classroom expectations, and behavior management procedures

Communicate student progress, concerns, or incidents to school administration

Adapt instruction as needed to meet student learning needs

Foster positive relationships with students rooted in Catholic values

Follow all school safety procedures and confidentiality expectations

Schedule

Oncall, asneeded basis

Schoolday hours

Follows the academic school calendar

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred

Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred

Strong classroom management and communication skills

Ability to adapt quickly and follow written lesson plans

Professional demeanor and flexibility

Commitment to Catholic values and educational mission

Ability to meet all background check and Safe Environment requirements
