Position SummaryHolton High School is seeking a high school Science teacher who is committed to strong instruction, meaningful relationships, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, standards-aligned science instruction while supporting student growth and contributing to a positive school culture.
Primary Responsibilities- Teach assigned science courses (912)
- Plan and deliver rigorous, inquiry-based lessons aligned to Kansas science standards
- Facilitate safe, hands-on laboratory and investigative experiences
- Use assessment data to guide instruction and support student growth
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- Maintain a structured, respectful classroom environment
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
- Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and ongoing professional learning
- Fulfill supervisory and other assigned duties
- Valid Kansas teaching license with appropriate Science (912) endorsement
- Strong content knowledge in the sciences
- Effective classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to collaboration and professional growth
- Experience teaching high school science
- Background in multiple science disciplines such as Biology, Physical Science, Environmental Science, or Anatomy
- Experience integrating technology into instruction

Applicants willing to obtain licensure through a two-year Transition to Teaching Program are also encouraged to apply.

USD 336, Holton is located 30 miles north of Topeka nestled in the rolling hills of Northeast Kansas. Holton is a classic midwestern community in the center of Jackson County. We have a student population of approximately 1,800 students. There are three attendance centers: Holton Elementary School Pre-K to 5th Grade, Holton Middle School Grades 6- 8, and Holton High School 9-12. The High School is a 4A school. The school district is dedicated to continuous school improvement with a caring and supportive environment.
