Position Summary

Holton High School is seeking a high school Science teacher who is committed to strong instruction, meaningful relationships, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, standards-aligned science instruction while supporting student growth and contributing to a positive school culture.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Teach assigned science courses (912)
  2. Plan and deliver rigorous, inquiry-based lessons aligned to Kansas science standards
  3. Facilitate safe, hands-on laboratory and investigative experiences
  4. Use assessment data to guide instruction and support student growth
  5. Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
  6. Maintain a structured, respectful classroom environment
  7. Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
  8. Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and ongoing professional learning
  9. Fulfill supervisory and other assigned duties
Qualifications
  1. Valid Kansas teaching license with appropriate Science (912) endorsement
  2. Strong content knowledge in the sciences
  3. Effective classroom management and communication skills
  4. Commitment to collaboration and professional growth
Preferred
  1. Experience teaching high school science
  2. Background in multiple science disciplines such as Biology, Physical Science, Environmental Science, or Anatomy
  3. Experience integrating technology into instruction
Compensation

Salary and benefits according to the negotiated agreement.

Applicants must have (or be able to obtain) a Certified Teaching license with the proper science endorsement .

Applicants willing to obtain licensure through a two-year Transition to Teaching Program are also encouraged to apply.

USD 336, Holton is located 30 miles north of Topeka nestled in the rolling hills of Northeast Kansas. Holton is a classic midwestern community in the center of Jackson County. We have a student population of approximately 1,800 students. There are three attendance centers: Holton Elementary School Pre-K to 5th Grade, Holton Middle School Grades 6- 8, and Holton High School 9-12. The High School is a 4A school. The school district is dedicated to continuous school improvement with a caring and supportive environment.
