USD 239's General Teacher Job Description & Pay Scale: Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the district's curriculum program requirements and provide written evidence of preparation as required. Prepare lessons that accommodate individual student needs. Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, equipment, and technology that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned and present subject matter according to standards as established by the Kansas State Board of Education, board policies, and administrative regulations. 4 Days of Personal Leave, 10 Days of Sick Leave Annually--teacher may accumulate a maximum of 60 days of sick leave (10 per year). Parental Leave: A teacher will receive 30 days of paid leave for contracted days that are within the 12-week time period following the birth or adoption of a child. The building principal can approve 2 days of professional leave per year for the purpose of attending educational conferences or educational visitations. USD 239 offers a district 125 cafeteria plan. 403(b) plan with the district matching up to $85 per month. $20,000 Group Term Life Insurance is provided for all employed teachers. Health Insurance: Blue Cross Blue Shield and Dental Available: The district pays a monthly health insurance fringe of $491/month for single plan, $516/month for employee/spouse plan, $516/month for an employee/child plan, and $551/month for a family plan.
