Baton Rouge Ochsner Discovery Health Sciences Academy (BROD) is a newly authorized Type 2 Charter that is part of the Discovery Schools Charter Management Organization. We are excited to bring Discovery education to the Baton Rouge area through our second corporate partnership with Ochsner Health. The school opened for the 2023-24 school year, starting with grades PreK4 - 4th and will eventually educate students in grades PreK - 8th at full capacity.

Baton Rouge Ochsner Discovery seeks a State Certified Middle School English Language Arts. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Elementary Education, Middle School Education, Special Education, Curriculum and Instruction, and/or Educational Leadership is a plus. Reading Specialist and/or ESL certification is desirable; 2+ years experience with children in a school setting is preferred. Familiarity with Louisiana Student Standards, the LEAP 2025 Assessment, Guidebooks 2.0 and Lucy Calkins' Writing Workshop Model is an asset. Interest in leading extracurricular student activities is a plus. Position available August 2026. Professional development workshops in the summer are required.
