Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract A high school special education teaching opportunity is available in Stamford, CT, supporting students in grades 9-12. This contract position runs the current school year with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 7:25 AM to 3:00 PM. In this role, you will work in a Resource/Co-Taught classroom setting, serving approximately 20-25 students with diverse special education needs across Math, Reading, Science, and Social Studies subjects. Some students may be medically fragile; however, a dedicated nurse will be available to provide necessary medical support. Collaboration with a General Education Teacher will be integral to delivering effective lessons and supports. Key responsibilities include: Implementing individualized instruction aligned with students' Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Actively participating in IEP meetings and contributing insights to support student progress Co-teaching and adapting curriculum to meet varied learning requirements Managing classroom dynamics in a resource room environment to foster an inclusive learning atmosphere Qualifications and experience required: Valid Connecticut Department of Education Special Education license Proven experience working with IEPs and attending related meetings Ability to effectively teach and support special education populations within a high school setting Benefits for this position include access to medical, dental, and vision health benefits, a 401(k) retirement savings option through Principal Financial, and competitive hourly pay ranging from $40.26 to $44.50.
