We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Preschool Assistant Teacher who will play a crucial role in maintaining a nurturing and engaging classroom environment. As a Preschool Assistant, you will work with students between ages 1 to 4 years old. This position is perfect for individuals passionate about education and looking to advance their careers by eventually stepping into a lead teacher role.
As an Assistant Teacher, you will:
- Foster positive social and emotional growth in students
- Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to ensure smooth classroom operations
- Engage with parents or guardians to support student development
- Help maintain a well-organized, vibrant, and interactive classroom
- If a teaching position opens during the school year, the assistant teacher will be the first to step into the classroom role.
Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in planning, supervising, and implementing the curriculum in alignment with Park Maitlands policies and procedures.
- Step in as a substitute teacher when needed, ensuring continuity of learning.
- Support classroom organization, including contributing to the classrooms appearance and decor.
- Maintain and contribute to classroom displays, including student artwork and bulletin boards.
- Uphold a positive, non-punitive approach to classroom management, focusing on positive reinforcement.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to the schools values and ethos, maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, ensuring a supportive and inclusive atmosphere.

What We Are Looking For
- DCF Credentials or willing to obtain credentials
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in education preferred
- Prior classroom experience in a preschool setting is preferred
