Accountable School Staffing is currently interviewing Special Education Teacher (SPEDT) for a 2025-2026 school year assignment in Dallas Texas. Dallas state professional license required. Job description CALT Certified Elementary Teacher POSITION DESCRIPTION: A teacher presents grade-level-appropriate information to each assigned student, manages the classroom, and establishes an atmosphere conducive to the academic and emotional growth of students. CALT certified and experienced working with Learning Differences. SUPERVISED BY: Each teacher is supervised by one or more of the following: the Assistant Head of School, the Head of School, and the Executive Director SUPERVISES: Students Grades 1-5 DUTIES INCLUDE: A. Classroom instruction B. Planning and preparation for instruction C. Applying consistent classroom management strategies; nurturing and caring to all students D. Holding students accountable for meeting academic and behavioral expectations E. Communicating effectively and timely with all stakeholders F. Conducting parent conferences G. Preparation of progress reports, report cards, and permanent record forms H. Participation in staff meetings I. Organization and care of teaching areas as well as materials J. Supervision of students before school, at lunch, and after school K. Sponsorship of field trips and school activities L. Attendance at required school functions M. Completion of required continuing education Teacher, Continued N. Ability to physically perform all required duties. The physical abilities listed below are representative of, but are not an exhaustive list of physical abilities required for this position: 1. Vision: (which may be corrected) to read small print; view a computer screen for prolonged periods of time 2. Hearing: (which may be corrected) to hear telephone conversations and tolerate exposure to noisy conditions 3. Speech: to be understood in face-to-face communications; to speak with a level of proficiency and volume to be understood over a telephone, and in the classroom 4. Upper Body Mobility: use hands and fingers to feel, grasp, and manipulate small objects; manipulate fingers, twist and bend at wrist and elbow; extend arms to reach outward and upward; use hands and arms to lift objects; turn, raise, and lower head 5. Strength: to lift, push, pull and/or carry objects which weigh as much as 10 pounds on a frequent basis 6. Movement: ability to stand and circulate for extended periods of time. Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, etc. in the classroom as needed. O.
