About the Role
Sagemont Preparatory School is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Economics and Us Government Teacher to join our collaborative team in supporting our high school students.
As a Sagemont Prep teacher, you will guide students in mastering skills through engaging and innovative lessons. You will be responsible for creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that fosters academic growth and personal responsibility. You will be interested in growing and being a part of our cornerstone entrepreneurship program. Based on your interest and experience, you will have the opportunity to propose and teach an entrepreneurship elective ranging from design thinking, Lean Six Sigma to marketing and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and teach Economics and Financial Literacy courses
Be an innovative member of the Entrepreneurship department
Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary approaches to Social Studies instruction.
Maintain an orderly, engaging classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
Employ positive classroom management techniques, encouraging student responsibility.
Regularly monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and guidance.
Mentor students, promoting academic achievement and personal development.
Foster strong relationships with parents, proactively engaging them in their childs education.
Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Business, Economics, History, or a related field (Masters preferred).
Minimum of 2+ years of teaching experience at the middle or high school level.
Strong ability to present mathematical concepts with clarity and confidence.
Commitment to building supportive relationships with students both in and beyond the classroom.
Ability to pass both state and federal background check
